At Andersen, learning extends beyond the IB curriculum.油
High School students are encouraged to question, create, collaborate and engage with the world around them through talks, workshops, cultural experiences, projects and educational visits.
These opportunities complement academic learning while developing critical thinking, creativity, confidence and international-mindedness.
more than a school, a philosophy for a growth
Citizenship and cultural pluralism Programme
The Citizenship and Cultural Pluralism Programme invites students to explore some of the key questions shaping contemporary society, from human rights and sustainability to culture, science, health and global issues.
Throughout the year, talks and discussions with academics, professionals and external experts bring different perspectives into the classroom and encourage students to question, debate and make connections across subjects.
Critical Thinking
Through philosophy, logic and structured argumentation, students learn to question assumptions, develop stronger arguments and communicate ideas with clarity. In the MYP, students have two dedicated periods each week to develop these skills in practice.
The programme builds reasoning, critical analysis and communication skills, while introducing foundations that support future Theory of Knowledge (TOK) learning.
Methodology of Creative Production
Students learn to transform ideas into well-structured projects through visual communication, design briefs and digital literacy. As part of the MYP timetable, two periods each week are specifically devoted to putting these skills into practice.
The focus is on creativity, organisation, visual literacy and problem-solving, supporting both the MYP Personal Project and future academic presentations.
Personal Growth & Emotional Intelligence
Through practical activities and guided reflection, students explore emotions, communication, personal values and relationships.
The programme develops self-awareness, confidence, emotional intelligence and personal autonomy.
EXPERIENCES BEYOND THE CLASSROOM
Throughout the year, students take part in experiences that connect learning with culture, creativity, technology, community and the wider world.
